About Focus

The future planning for the “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan” involves a long-term, sustained effort to integrate women's and children's health into the national development framework, leveraging existing health programs and community involvement to achieve the vision of "Viksit Bharat 2047".

Key Future Plans and Objectives

Continuous Implementation: While the initial intensive camp phase ran from September to October 2025, the underlying principle of the Abhiyaan is a continuous, life-cycle approach to women's health. This means ongoing integration of its objectives into daily operations at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, Community Health Centers (CHCs), and Anganwadis nationwide.

  • Strengthening Existing Schemes: The initiative is designed to build on the legacy and success of existing national programs, ensuring their continued effectiveness. These include:

  • Anemia Mukt Bharat (Anaemia Free India) for nutrition and iron supplementation.
  • Poshan 2.0 to combat malnutrition among women and children.

  • Mission Indradhanush for comprehensive child and maternal immunization coverage.
  • PM-JAY (Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana) and ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts) for access to digital health services and insurance benefits.

  • Real-Time Monitoring and Accountability: The Abhiyaan utilizes the SASHAKT portal for real-time monitoring of health camps, screenings, and immunizations, which will continue to be a crucial tool for ensuring transparency, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making in future efforts.
  • Fostering Behavioral Change: A key long-term goal is to drive sustainable behavioural changes in communities regarding health, nutrition, and hygiene practices. This involves ongoing awareness campaigns and education sessions led by frontline workers like ASHAs and Anganwadi workers.

  • Ensuring Health Equity: The campaign aims to ensure equitable healthcare access, with a continued focus on addressing health disparities in rural, tribal, and vulnerable populations, including targeted services for conditions like sickle cell disease in tribal areas.
  • Achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): The initiative is closely aligned with India's commitment to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, particularly those related to good health and well-being, hunger elimination, and gender equality.

  • The "Whole-of-Society" approach, encouraging participation from all government ministries, private hospitals, and citizens, ensures that these efforts are widely supported and integrated into the national health system for lasting impact.
